Rich Moss and Dan McMurry Jr. started R & D Automotive Inc. in Castleton in 2005, and we’ve been growing ever since by building a reputation for mechanical ability (we truly can “fix it all”), with an emphasis on customer service. Our team offers automotive repairs on all makes and models, from oil changes and Vermont State Inspections, to brakes, shocks and tires, engines and transmissions, (and everything in between) … we’ll get you back on the road in no time!

Now available 24 hours a day for roadside assistance, towing and recovery, we have also partnered with AAA, Allstate, GEICO and more as a local emergency services provider. R&D employs six full-time technicians (plus Rich and Dan), and four tow truck operators. We are centrally located on Main Street in Castleton, to provide a full slate of automotive services to customers from all over Rutland County to Whitehall and even Granville, NY.

In 2015 we underwent a large expansion, increasing our capacity from 5 car and truck lifts to 11, while adding a new customer reception and waiting area (free wifi and coffee!), which also includes a beautiful front porch and deck to use during good weather while waiting for your car to be repaired.
